A Passion for Wings
That Changed Everything

It all started in 2018 when Marcus Johnson, a lifelong wing enthusiast and amateur pitmaster, grew frustrated with one simple truth: most wings in the Chicago area were just plain ordinary. Soggy skins, bland sauces, and uninspired recipes were everywhere he looked.

Marcus started hosting weekend wing nights in his Oak Park backyard, inviting friends and family to taste his carefully crafted sauces — each one built from scratch with premium ingredients, balanced heat profiles, and layers of flavor most people had never experienced in a chicken wing.

The demand grew so fast that by early 2019, Marcus partnered with chef Danielle Rivera and opened the first Wing Snob location at 7115 W North Ave. The community fell in love instantly. Within six months, they had lines out the door and a reputation that spread across the entire western suburbs.

2018

The Backyard Begins

Marcus Johnson hosts his first Wing Night in Oak Park, serving 12 guests. The night ends with empty plates, big smiles, and requests for next weekend's menu.

2019

Doors Open on North Ave

Wing Snob officially opens at 7115 W North Ave. The first week sees over 200 orders. Chef Danielle Rivera joins as co-founder and head of kitchen operations.

2020

Best Wings in Oak Park Award

Despite a challenging year, Wing Snob pivots to delivery-first and earns "Best Wings in Oak Park" from Chicago Suburb Digest. Online orders triple overnight.

2021

The Sauce Lab Launches

We unveil our in-house Sauce Lab, expanding from 6 signature sauces to 18 distinct flavor profiles. The "Hellfire Honey" sauce becomes our most-ordered item.

2022

10,000 Customer Milestone

Wing Snob celebrates serving its 10,000th unique customer. We expand our seating area and introduce the Wing Snob Loyalty Club with exclusive member benefits.

2023

Catering Program Launches

We officially launch our full-service catering program for corporate events, weddings, and parties. Booked out weeks in advance from day one.

2024

50,000 Customers & Beyond

Wing Snob surpasses 50,000 served customers and a 4.9-star average rating across all platforms. We invest in new kitchen technology and begin planning expansion.
